Gannets are Scotland’s and Britain’s largest sea birds having a wingspan up to six feet long . They fold their wings straight back transforming into aerodynamic missiles and hit the surface of the water with a speed of 60 mph preying for seafood. They form dense nesting colonies called “gannetries” on
cliffs and rocky islands between March and September each year .
