Bugatti Divo Top Speed
The Divo is slower than a Chiron in a straight line and that was the plan. Bugatti gave up 40 km/h of top speed to gain 90 kg of extra downforce, took 35 kg out of the car and stiffened the suspension. Around the Nardo test track it laps 8 seconds faster than a Chiron. If you only read the top speed number you would think it was the worse car.

About the Divo
For about fifteen years Bugatti made one kind of car, and that car was built to go very fast in a straight line. The Divo was the first time in the modern era that they built something to do the opposite.
It is named after Albert Divo, a racing driver who won the Targa Florio twice for Bugatti in the 1920s on Sicilian mountain roads. That is the clue. The Divo is meant for corners, and everything about it follows from that. Wider air intakes, a much bigger rear wing, a stiffer setup and a lot of weight taken out of places you cannot see.
It still does 380 km/h, which is faster than almost anything else on the road. It just is not trying to beat a Chiron at the thing a Chiron is best at.
All 40 sold out on the first day. The last one was built in July 2021.
