Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Top Speed
350 km/h is the lowest top speed of any modern Bugatti, and it is the whole idea. Bugatti shortened the gearing by about 15 percent, which means the car accelerates harder in every gear but runs out of revs sooner. You trade the last 70 km/h for a car that feels dramatically quicker everywhere you would actually drive it.

About the Chiron Pur Sport
Most fast cars chase a bigger number. The Pur Sport went the other way, and that makes it the most interesting car Bugatti has built in years.
The reasoning is simple once you hear it. Almost nobody who owns a Chiron ever gets near 420 km/h, because you need a closed test track and a very brave morning. But everybody drives on roads with corners. So Bugatti shortened the gears, stiffened the springs by around 65 percent at the front, fitted a fixed 1.9 metre wing and took 50 kg out of the car.
The result feels like a different machine. It changes direction in a way a standard Chiron never could, and the shorter gearing means the engine is always in the meat of its power. What it gives up is the headline figure, and Bugatti was comfortable with that.
60 were built. On paper it is the slowest modern Bugatti. In practice it is the one many owners say they enjoy most.
